2023 DataMac MEXICO Executive Market Overview

MacKay & Company recently completed our 2023 DataMac Mexico Truck & Bus Study, our 9th detailed profile of the aftermarket for replacement parts used on medium and heavy duty trucks, buses and trailers. Our study is based on over 300 interviews with owners and maintainers of commercial vehicles in Mexico.

A new option this year…the Executive Market Overview Report. This 72-page report includes key details of the study including:

  • Research process

  • Economic outlook

  • Vehicle operating population

  • Aftermarket parts demand by vehicle type

  • Aftermarket demand by point of service and point of final sale

  • Type of replacement parts

  • Detail on the five key aftermarket parts product groups

  • Separate section on Motor Coaches and Transit Buses.

This report provides a less expensive alternative to the full subscription while still providing a thorough overview of the commercial vehicle aftermarket in Mexico. This option does not provide access to the data through our online application, but should you wish to add this option at a future date, the purchase price of the Executive Report will be applied towards the additional cost of the online data access.

10% of Responding Fleets are Using or Testing Alternative Power Vehicles

With 640 fleet respondents operating 72,000 vehicles, our Technology Monitor will provide a solid foundation to measure various technology usage among fleets. Initial data reveals that 10% of our responding fleets are using or currently testing alternative power vehicles.

With our first publication scheduled to be released within the next month, you will shortly be able to learn about fleets’ implementation of available technology. Our first report will allow you the opportunity to explore and see, first hand, fleets’ interest, acceptance and conversion to new technology.

In the Changing Service Equation, What Challenges Lie Ahead?

MacKay & Company is launching our comprehensive examination of the medium and heavy duty truck and trailer service market. It has been four years since we last evaluated this market in detail and, as you know, quite a bit has occurred in that timeframe — a pandemic, parts shortages, labor shortages and record price increases, to name a few.

Our Study will take a look at a number of service-related topics:

  • What does the service opportunity look like today?

  • What are fleets looking for in a service provider?

  • What are fleets’ trailer service needs?

  • How has technology impacted fleets’ service decisions?

  • What can component suppliers do to support the service channels?

  • ….and many more!

Are there service-related topics that you and your team are interested in learning more about? This Study will also address topics that are specific to Study participants. By committing to the Study early on, you and your team will have the opportunity to include topics that you wish to explore.

A detailed prospectus is available. Reach out and we will be happy to send it along for your review.
